A message from our owner, Sam...
I’ve been running Carpet Time for over 14 years and enjoyed many successful years right up to the present day. All those years I have remained focused on our loyal customers and loyal staff members and put all my energies into Carpet Time, a business my father started the basis for over 39 years ago.
After several years of reflection and with the mutual agreement of all at Carpet Time I have decided now is the best time for me to move on. Whilst I am excited about the future, this decision comes with a heavy heart after serving the local community for so long and with so much success.
I would like to say a big thank you to all 18,000+ of our loyal customers over all those years for your business, your great feedback and all the ways you have helped us trade successfully for so long. I would also like to thank all our suppliers and everyone we have built excellent working relationships with over this time. Carpet Time has been a huge success and you have all contributed to making a local business work to serve the local community.
The Coronavirus lockdown has given us all an opportunity and time to reflect on our journey ahead. Since closing our doors for lockdown, the long break has reinvigorated me and given me a positive outlook for the future. With the agreement of all our staff and all involved at Carpet Time I have decided it’s the best time to move on and explore other opportunities ahead.
With this in mind we won’t be opening our doors to the public again, we will be winding up our operation over the next few months in a tidy manner. We will be completing ongoing work and finishing fittings on our books. Any customers with outstanding work will already be booked in or will be booked in when ready over the next few months.
Other than a long break, we are in a good position to have not been materially affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite all the negative news we will be leaving on a high having put all our customer’s, supplier’s and staff’s interests first. We are in a fortunate position to have zero debt even during the difficult trading conditions many are facing.
I’m really proud of all the hard work of my staff and what we’ve achieved.
Lastly I’d like to wish the very best to our close competitors who will no doubt take up the slack and continue to serve the community to the best of their abilities for the years to come, I wish you all success.
